Your yearly subscription provides you with EMERGENCY ambulance transportation from the scene of an accident or medical emergency to a local hospital.

The local hospitals are:

• Mon Valley Hospital
• Washington Hospital
• Jefferson Hospital

Patients may be responsible for long distance mileage to facilities other than those listed.  Mon Valley EMS reserves the right to third party bill your insurance carrier for any payments that may be available for services rendered.

Your subscription also provides limited coverage for NON-emergency transportation that is medically necessary.  Charges for non-emergency transportation that are denied as a non-covered or not medically necessary by the insurance carrier will be billed to a subscriber at a cash discounted rate.  Non-subscribers will be responsible for 100% of any charges incurred.

Additional documentation indicating the need for ambulance transportation from your physician may be required.  Subscribers must also comply with any requirements for pre-authorization or notifications as required by your insurance carrier.  Failure to comply may result in termination of your subscription agreement.

Subscription fees are utilized to offset insurance co-payments and deductibles for our subscribers.

Mon Valley EMS is a non-profit organization that provides 24-hour Paramedic service from 3 stations located within the Mon Valley.  We receive no monetary support from local governments and rely outside funding and rely solely on fees for service and our yearly subscription drive to obtain the funds necessary to operate.  There have been drastic cuts by Medicare and other insurance carriers in the reimbursements for services rendered.  This has caused a drastic reduction in the revenue that is used to continue operations.  This has made your support even more crucial if we are to continue to provide service to our communities.

Wheel chair and stretcher van transportation is available 24 hours per day 7 days per week.  Charges for this service are not covered under the subscription agreement and are the responsibility of the person utilizing the service.
