Basic Rescue Practices

Department of Health, Basic Rescue Practices Training Class

During the month of March Team 570 staff attended the DOH BRP course held at MVEMS and WCCC.  This rescue program provides a working knowledge of rope, knots and hitches, rigging systems, confined space rescue, ladders and mechanical advantage systems in technical rescue situations. Rescuers are trained to construct A-frames, gin poles, high-lines, mechanical advantage raising and lowering systems for patient rescue. This is the second year in a row that this course was held for local rescue providers.  It was a cold, wet, but wonderful experience for those who attended.
